Summer Programme
Please see above our summer plan from 3rd July to 10th August.
Connect covers 3 main areas within Berwickshire and has received limited funding but have done our best to place activities through the drop-ins and trips that are free to young people accessing Connect. We are excited to offer engaging Berwickshire youth programs this summer.
Starting 5th July, Duns will be open for drop-in summer activities every Wednesday until the 10th of August. During these sessions, young people will plan weekly activities and a final trip. These sessions will run from 6pm - 8pm every Wednesday and are available for young people in P7 - S4.
Each drop-in will have a variety of activities during the session, including board games, visits, tournaments, food, movies, and more. The scheduled trips will be first come, first served, with priority given to those who have accessed Connect services in the past months. We hope you can join us for some free summer trips!
Sign-up sheets will be displayed within the sessions for young people to choose to sign up before parents/guardians contact us to book places.
As a charity, we rely solely on donations and funding but understand that summer activities can be expensive, which is why all our sessions remain free and will provide food throughout. However, many parents and guardians have offered to make a contribution; if you feel you would like to, please email info@bypconnect.com.
Consent Forms
Young people who have filled out a consent form for the organization will not have to fill another one out for the trip. For young people who have never accessed our services before, you will need to go to "our projects - drop in" and fill out the consent form link at the bottom of the page.
David will contact those who have places to confirm the trip if they have a consent form filled out with us already. If you feel your young person's information needs updating, please let us know immediately.
Any further information will be displayed here; however, if you feel you need more details, please contact Project Manager directly at david@bypconnect.com.
Young people who are in primary 6 who will be primary 7 are welcome along to the drop ins that are dedicated to P7. However they wont be allowed to attend the trips as this would be unfair to young people who have been consistently coming to our drop in sessions.
Duns - every Wednesday until the 10th of August 6pm-8pm (P7 - S4)
Eyemouth - every Monday 6pm - 8pm (P7-S2)
every Thursday 6pm - 8pm (S2+)
Coldstream - Every Monday 6pm - 8pm (S1+)
Every Thursday 6pm - 8pm (P7 only)
TRIPS
Due to the demand of young people wanting to attend our trips that we are providing, it will be a first come first serve basis but sign ups will only be done by young people in the first week to offer a fair chance to those who have been attending weekly.
Once the young people who attend weekly have a chance to sign up, Connect will then take names from parents and guardians. I understand that if your child/ward does not get a space this can be disheartening, but do know we have tried our best to cater to everyone, which is why each of our drop in sessions will feature an in house activity as well.
